It is a well-known that over the past 40 years, the hormonal balance in both men and women has undergone dramatic alterations. These changes can be attributed to various factors, including contaminants present in our water sources, runoff from industrial activities, antibiotics administered in our food production systems, and the ingestion of phthalates or “forever chemicals” through plastic utensils, as well as exposure through the air and water we consume.
This pervasive influence on our hormonal systems is not only a matter of concern but also indicates a significant shift in how we perceive and manage our health and well-being.
Approximately 2 out of every 100 men in America experience low testosterone levels, with prevalence increasing with age. This condition, known as hypogonadism, can impact various aspects of health and well-being. Achieving optimal hormone balance is pivotal for enhancing your health span in relation to your lifespan.
We have hormone receptors in every cell of our bodies. This affects our brain, nervous system, bones, muscles and organs. Getting out hormones optimized is important as this is a building block for the rest of the therapies we have in our clinic.
At Colorado TRT, we offer a range of hormone balancing therapies tailored to meet your individual needs. Whether you're experiencing symptoms of low testosterone, commonly referred to as hypogonadism, or seeking to optimize hormone levels to enhance overall health and well-being, we have the expertise and resources to help you achieve your goals.
Our approach to hormone balancing encompasses three main modalities:
Pellets: Implantable hormone pellets offer a sustained release of hormones, ensuring consistent levels over an extended period. This method provides convenience and efficacy, allowing you to maintain optimal hormone balance with minimal hassle.
Injections: Injectable hormone therapies offer a flexible and effective solution for achieving hormone balance. Administered under medical supervision, injections provide precise dosing and rapid results, allowing you to experience the benefits of optimized hormone levels quickly.
Transdermal Cream: Transdermal hormone creams offer a non-invasive and convenient option for hormone supplementation. Applied topically, these creams are absorbed directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system for efficient absorption and delivery.
At Colorado TRT, we recognize that hormone balancing is not just about addressing symptoms—it's about empowering you to reclaim your vitality and quality of life. Our team of experienced professionals is dedicated to providing personalized care and guidance every step of the way, ensuring that you achieve optimal results safely and effectively.
The initial evaluation for low testosterone typically begins with a comprehensive medical history review and physical examination. During the medical history assessment, the healthcare provider will inquire about symptoms such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, mood changes, and changes in body composition.
They may also explore potential risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, medication use, and previous medical conditions or treatments that could affect hormone levels. This thorough evaluation helps the healthcare provider understand the patient's symptoms, their impact on daily life, and any underlying factors contributing to low testosterone.
Following the medical history review, a physical examination is conducted to assess for signs of low testosterone and any related health concerns. This examination may include measurements of height, weight, and waist circumference and BMI. Additionally, the healthcare provider may assess for signs of hypogonadism.
Based on the findings from the medical history and physical examination, further diagnostic testing, such as blood tests to measure testosterone levels, may be recommended to confirm the diagnosis and guide treatment decisions. Overall, the first visit for evaluation of low testosterone aims to gather comprehensive information to establish an accurate diagnosis and develop an individualized treatment plan to address the patient's symptoms and improve their quality of life.
