About ColoradoTRT

Welcome to Colorado TRT, where we have redefined the approach to aging gracefully and supporting your ability to continue to do your favorite activities.  In Colorado, this usually requires lots of gear and sunscreen.

Throughout my life, I've participated in many physical activities, including as a professional, skier, whitewater, kayaking, hiking, biking, camping, and any other outdoor activity I can find. Though, I have found the most physical activity I have participated in, has been aging and raising a family.

With a wealth of experience spanning across various medical disciplines, including pediatrics, geriatrics, internal medicine, critical care, trauma surgery, acute care surgery and specialized focus on hormones and anti-aging, I've dedicated my career to understanding the intricacies of health at every stage of life.

Having worked as a medical technician, registered nurse, and physician assistant, I've witnessed firsthand the challenges and triumphs individuals face as they navigate through different phases of their lives. From the innocence of childhood to the wisdom of old age, each stage presents its own unique set of health concerns.

In pediatrics, I've seen how genetic abnormalities and traumatic incidents can shape a child's health trajectory, often beyond our immediate control. In geriatrics, I've observed the consequences of cumulative injuries and unresolved ailments, shortening the health span in relation to our lifespan. The recurring refrain of "ever since I injured my [insert body part], my [insert related body part] started bothering me" became all too familiar, leading to a cascade of health issues that diminished quality of life.

My tenure in trauma surgery provided me with a deeper understanding of the domino effect that minor injuries can have on long-term health. From dislocated joints resulting in chronic pain to persistent discomforts leading to reliance on narcotic medications, I've seen firsthand the toll it takes on individuals' overall well-being.

Dr Gottesfeld (we all call him Dr. Ray!) is a clinician, researcher, medical executive and teacher who grew up skiing in Colorado and returned here in 1981 following initial training in Ob-Gyn.

Later, complications from shoulder and knee surgeries taught him first-hand the limits of Western allopathic medicine and the benefits of alternative therapies.

Returning to the classroom, he became certified in Integrative Holistic Medicine [ABIHM, 2016] which he incorporated along with Cannabis Medicine into his integrative consultancy, The Center for Patient Advocacy. He has lectured in the United States and Australia.

Dr Gottesfeld has served as Medical Director of several health plans, on ethics committees and research committees charged with protecting patient rights, and as Chief Medical Officer of McKesson Corporation, a Fortune-15 Company. Outside of medicine, Dr. Gottesfeld has served on the Boards of several Colorado nonprofits.

His passions are his family, the Denver Broncos (sometimes) and foreign travel.

Despite the best intentions of mainstream medicine, the advice often offered—take painkillers, stretch more, move less—falls short in addressing the root causes of these ailments. I've witnessed the frustration of individuals caught in a cycle of pain management without resolution.

This insight led us to envision a clinic tailored specifically to the needs of the middle-aged adult, between 30 and 65, who grapples with persistent but non-surgical health issues. At Colorado TRT, our philosophy is simple yet revolutionary: by addressing minor injuries and discomforts proactively, we can prevent them from escalating into more serious conditions, thereby extending the health span relative to the lifespan.

Our comprehensive approach combines advanced medical technologies with personalized care to optimize your health and vitality. From hormone optimization to innovative anti-aging treatments, we're committed to helping you not just live longer, but live better.

Join us at Colorado TRT and embark on a journey towards a healthier, more vibrant you. Because aging doesn't have to mean a decline in quality of life—it can be a celebration of vitality and well-being.
